Battelle ARO contracts with the University of Colorado Denver, Section of Wilderness and Environmental Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine (CU-Anschutz) to provide NSF-funded researchers with remote medical services. While in the field, participating researchers have access to physicians 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via satellite phone, telex, HF radio, computer or facsimile. For more information, please go to the CU-Anschutz website.

Upon request, Battelle ARO will provide participating researchers with a field first aid kit with over-the-counter drugs and supplies. Please note that no prescription drugs are issued. If the Principal Investigator (PI) wishes to take prescription drugs into the field, they must contact their personal physician. This kit will be issued to the Principal Investigator or lead field team member, and will become their responsibility for use in the field. The kit must be returned to Battelle ARO at the end of each field season. Battelle ARO will maintain the kits and refurbish them prior to re-issue.

Additional services can also be arranged if necessary.
