Toolik Helicopter Request The deadline for submissions for the 2026 Toolik Helicopter Requests is March 20. Researchers will be contacted in the event of scheduling conflicts or where changes need to be made to the calendar by your Science PM and/or Alaska Operations Manager. The Toolik Helicopter Calendar will be finalized by April 30 for research community viewing. Please enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form. Please enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form.Flight Date *IMPORTANT: Flight dates are between June 29 – July 13 and August 5 – 18, ONLY.User Name *Project Number *Project Field Contact Person *Provide name, email, and phone number.Specific Destination *GPS Coordinates *Number in Party Slider Selected Value: 1 The R66 can carry 4 passengers at most, in addition to the pilot and depending on gear load. Separate flight requests must be submitted to each location for parties of more than 4. Trip Type *1 = Drop-off and pick up at one site for the day, can be flexible in take-off and pick-up times, other groups can easily use the helicopter during the day2 = Drop-off and pick up at several sites for the day, need “shuttles” at specific times during the day, other groups could use the helicopter during the day with adequate planning. NOTE the helicopter will not stay with you in this scenario.3 = Need the helicopter exclusively for a portion of the day, can be flexible about the time of day, other groups might have limited access to the helicopter. Need to identify how much ground time is required.4 = Need the helicopter exclusively for most if not all of the day, need to start fairly early and won’t be back until dinner at least, other groups unlikely to be able to use the helicopter Project Gear Sites Ground TimeHow long will the helicopter need to stay with you on the ground? e.g. 30 min per hop? Times can range from X hours, to X minutes per site.Gear Load *1 = Light gear, small ruck packs only, survey-type effort2 = Moderate gear, larger packs or Action Packers and ruck packs, bulky but not heavy gear3 = Heavy gear, larger packs, Action Packers, special needs gear (batteries, long poles or tripods, etc.)Assume Helicopter payload = 900 lbs. Be sure to note any HAZ or special request needs, i.e., research is dependent on flying on X dates, morning or afternoon flight preferred, are flexible with dates, etc. Submit
